ZD-X20 Automatic Tool Grinder Introduces New Probe-Based Tool Setting System

The latest version of the ZD-X20 Automatic Tool Grinder has been upgraded with a newly developed probe-based tool setting system, improving both grinding precision and operational stability for CNC tool reconditioning.

Starting from July 1, all new ZD-X20 units are equipped with this upgraded configuration as standard.

Improved Tool Positioning for Higher Grinding Accuracy

The updated system replaces the previous manual blade-type tool setting method with an intelligent probe detection mechanism.

This change allows the machine to automatically detect tool position before grinding, reducing setup time and improving repeatability in daily operation. As a result, users can achieve more consistent tool geometry and improved grinding accuracy.

Expanded Compatibility for CNC Cutting Tools

The ZD-X20 continues to support a wide range of carbide tools used in machining applications, including:

• End mills (2 to 6 flutes)
• Ball nose end mills
• Corner radius cutters
• Chamfering tools
• Drill bits (standard, center, internal cooling types)
• Engraving cutters
• Corn milling cutters
• Single-flute cutters
• 

It supports tool diameters from 3 mm to 20 mm, making it suitable for various tool maintenance requirements.

Simplified Operation and Faster Setup

With the combination of probe-based automatic detection and a touch-screen control system, the grinding process becomes easier and more efficient.

Operators can complete tool alignment and setup in a shorter time while reducing manual adjustment errors during operation.

Stable Structure with Upgrade Capability

The machine is equipped with ER32 collets (9 pieces) and three SDC diamond grinding wheels, ensuring compatibility with different tool types and grinding conditions.

In addition, the system architecture supports future software updates, allowing long-term usability and extended machine lifecycle.
